The importance of early intervention
According to data collected by the World Health Organization, 10-20% of children and adolescents have a mental disorder, and half of all adult mental health disorders begin before the age of 14. Mental disorders can impair development, self-fulfilment and the way people function and interact with others, whether in the family, at school or in society. Early intervention, appropriate care and treatment help prevent and reduce the consequences of mental disorders for young people and their families.
