Presentation
Biofeedback is a set of specialized techniques whose primary goal is stress management through the control of physiological processes by the patient himself. It is particularly effective for anxiety, digestive disorders, migraine, insomnia, cardiovascular diseases and muscle pain.
This self-regulation therapy is based on various relaxation methods. These methods allow the patient to learn to intentionally regulate certain physiological functions (such as heart rate or body temperature) in order to improve physical, mental and emotional health.
After identifying the disorders, the specialist will propose two techniques: cardiac coherence and Melomind.
Cardiac coherence
Cardiac coherence is based on the principle of heart rate variability. The patient will be able to effectively manage the emotional response to stress by voluntarily controlling the breathing according to a specific rhythm.
Les Toises - Centre de psychiatrie et psychothérapie is equipped with specific high-performance software that records abdominal and thoracic breathing movements.
