Deep Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (DTS ) is a non-invasive medical neurostimulation technique that can be used to treat various psychological or neurological disorders.
Studies have demonstrated its effectiveness in treating depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder and certain types of chronic pain.
These areas are identified under medical supervision, and their specific stimulation is guaranteed by the use of a patented helmet. This painless method requires neither hospitalization nor anesthesia and is performed under the supervision of psychiatrists and qualified health professionals.
Les Toises - Centre de Psychiatrie et Psychothérapie is equipped with a state-of-the-art Deep TMS machine to treat certain forms of depression, migraines as well as chronic pain syndromes that are only partially responsive to usual treatments.
Therapeutic framework
- The curative treatment established by a specialist requires about 20 sessions, each lasting about 30 minutes, most often included in a personalized care program of 1h30. It takes place over a period of 4 weeks.
- Deep TMS requires a prior in-depth interview with a specialized psychiatrist who will define a course of treatment adapted to the patient, according to the objectives of the follow-up.
- This service is not covered by basic health insurance (LAMal). However, in certain situations, insurance companies may cover it upon request.
